1.4 16v for sale aka 'Forest'

Hi all,

I am selling 'Forest' my AFH engined 6n1, i have to stress that this car is far too good to break for its engine, so i want it to go to a good home. It starts first time every time and drives really nicely got 94BHP on the rolling road on Saturday, running even better now after the long drive there and back.

Full VW service history until 90K when it had a major service (2012)

Brand new clutch kit and cable just fitted

New gearbox oil and selector seal done

Sump leak hopefully sorted now

Oil leak sorted on cam cover and new bolts fitted

Oil and filter just been changed

New HT leads and spark plugs

New windscreen fitted last year

New distributor and coil, and i had the timing set up at a garage

Both senders and thermostat replaced

No fault codes showing

Power steering

Air conditioning

Central locking

Electric windows

Airbags

Headlight adjusters

Rear brake calipers - all discs and pads are fine, fronts replaced in 2013 however HB tends to stick on if you leave it standing too long

Tinted glass, clear indicators and usual 16v spec bumpers etc

Standard suspension so original alloys could be found to put it back to factory

Fox racing 16" alloy wheels with Yokohama 195/45 tyres all round that have excellent tread, fronts were new in 2014

Sony CD player, speakers all work but are original so could do with being upgraded - i believe the door cards have bigger speakers in as standard

The only bad points are:

A few small rust spots as shown in the photos, few parking dinks and scratches but overall its very clean

Passenger window works if you take the door card off and bang it, i found loads of broken glass in there so cleaned that all out, it worked for a while then stopped again

Boot lock doesn't work but opens on central locking, pump was changed just before i got it.

Door locks have been replaced so on mk3 type key, ignition is on the proper lazer cut key, and i do have a spare for that - (second hand door locks can be bought and tumbled to match ignition)

Seal around the aerial needs replacing, think it leaks slightly into head lining

For peace of mind you might want to get the cam belt and tensioners done this year as it was last done in 2012, but i've checked it and it looks fine

The idle seems to sit a bit high sometimes when you stop but mainly does it when its cold, not sure why it does it

Advisory on a slight exhaust blow but it must be tiny as its not noticeable

I brought new clear side repeater lenses but the mot garage said the bulbs had gone, so broke the clips and just taped round and stuck them back in!

Crack in the front bumper and clip broken in the trim under the headlight, also plastic broken that holds the headlights in but they don't move so i haven't worried about it

if you take the under tray off a few bushes are a bit perished so could do with being changed, however with the under tray on it won't fail the mot!

Drivers seat has a saggy side bolster and is a bit worn, carpet has a small fag burn and could do with decent mats

I am being very picky and trying to list everything i can think of, overall its a really nice clean car that with a bit more tlc will look great. I've owned it almost a year now and done loads of things to it to make it run nicely and tidy it up, only selling because i have been offered another car and i've got my mk2 'Bluey' to concentrate on and i don't want this to get neglected, its far too good to be my runabout!
