Hi everyone. Does anybody know what the minimum thickness is on the brake discs of a Polo 1.4 6N2 2001?

The Allen bolts are for the front calipers, they are often a swine to remove and the heads round out !!

Thanks for the above info Nige 8021. The reason I needed them is because my lad who is 19 this month is taking a vehicle mechanics course at college and the Polo I've been asking questions about is a birthday present from me. While he is taking his driving lessons I am getting him to check things on his own car and if a simple fix, let him fix it. That way he'll get more experience and give him some responsibility.

Keeping the above dimensions in mind, anyone who wishes to skim their discs in the lath, need to remember that run-out is just as important as minimum thickness.

For this reason, it is better to mount the disc away from the headstock, in order that a cut can be taken from each face of the disc without removing it from the lath. This will almost certainly mean making a dummy hub on which to mount it.
