Need to learn how to weld

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone knows any good welding courses in or around the Widnes, Cheshire area.

I have a City and Guilds Certificate in welding which i got about 30yrs ago (that made me feel old) and I'm not sure how i passed it or remember taking it.

I have always wanted to learn but u fortunately life got in the way

Just a thought - Why not hire a MIG welder and see if you can resurrect the skills that you had, even if you didn't actually use MIG at the time, with a little practice it is quite easy to do, anyone who has used manual metallic arc would soon pick up MIG.

There are 'gasless' MIG units, but I have never used one, I do understand though that the special wire required is quite expensive.

You can now get CO2/Argon in various size cylinders without paying rental on the cylinders - try www.adamsgas.co.uk, whilst being a bit expensive for industrial use, they are good for the occasional user, and cheaper than the disposable cylinder stuff.

Regards
