Mk2f refitting sunroof questions

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Joined up not so long ago and continue to benefit from the wealth of knowledge on here already.

I've had a look but couldn't find any specifics on sunroof repair, I know some people have deleted them using various methods. I'm in the process of repairing / refitting my aftermarket sunroof - does anyone have any suggestions or could somebody recommend a good sealant to use to firstly seal the top frame of the sunroof to the roof panel and secondly bed the rubber seal that meets the glass into the frame? I'm not really sure if I need to do the latter, rubber is in good condition so may be ok if I just sit it in the frame dry?

Any advice or personal experience would be greatly appreciated!

Frame is currently being powdercoated and I've cleaned all other components up, if pictures would help let me know, thanks in advance.

yeah thats rubber grease ...or try it clean and bare

if the rubber is still in good condition then it should work ok
