No fan Polo GTI/Lupo

Featured Replies

My fan doesn't come on at all. I've connected it to the battery and it came on straight away.

Fuse under steering wheel is ok.

What could cause it?

Depending on the equipment level, there might be a fan control unit normally mounted under the battery tray, if not the fan is just controlled by the thermo switch in the radiator, stick a paper clip in the connector pin 1 to pin 3 and the fan should run at full speed, if you have a two speed fan pin 1 to pin 2 it will run at the slow speed

How do I know if the fan control unit needs replacing?

How do I know if the fan control unit needs replacing?

Have you determined there is one fitted ?? and is this on a Polo GTi or a Lupo ??? if there is and shorting the radiator temp sensor pins didn't make the fan run and the fuses on the battery are OK then it's probably a dead control unit or a wiring problem

I couldn't feel anything but did find this?! Two broken wires.. Any ideas what they are for?

Also a connector that doesn't have anything attached to it.

The first picture is the connector that goes into the fuse box ontop of the battery, what do the two end fuses control?

And last picture isn't mine but is that connector the one that goes into the control unit on the right?
