What tape do you use in the engine wiring loom? I used a cheap one a month ago in a intervention I did, and it's slowly getting off...

Now I bought this one:

Is this electrical tape safe to use in the engine bay on the wiring loom (not close to the engine)?

I have it here... in the box says

20m x 19mm x 0,215mm

It's rated for -18ºC to 105ºC

The reviews are good, it seems really thick and strong and it has flame retardant.

The original I removed is PVC too.

It's in the engine bay but away from the engine (on the other side).

My main concern with about the temperature. Is 105ºc enough?

Electrical tape is fine. But it doesn't look factory and if you ever come to remove it it leaves behind this horrible sticky mess. Fabric loom tape is much better.

I have used the fabric tape with good results ..

Used the Tesa tape on my 1991 coupe to replace all on my car wanting to maintain originality and it's not possible to tell the difference. Does the job.

Job done, but not sure you have correct caps on your top struts ?

No. These are from a Seat I think. Got totally fed up with the correct ones falling off. Bought new but they did exactly the same so this is my only non standard modification.

Oh I see your point I used a blob of silicon on them so will not fall off but not strong enough so you can't pull them off etc..

I have frabic loom bought from VW all original (http://i.imgur.com/7QfXX.jpg). It has this part number by the way: 000979950

The problem is, as you can see in my image below (arrow), the original tape is PVC tape and I want to keep it original, just asking if this tape (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00004WCCP?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?tag=b0f1c-21) the 105ºC is enough, it is 3M, it seems thicker and strong and better than cheap tape that can only handle around 90ºC.

Will it fall off or burn?

It's not in a high heat area, so as I said before there's nothing wrong with that 3M tape :)
