Locking wheel nut help

Featured Replies

Hi i have a set of vw locking nuts on my car but some prat who had the car before me has done the locking nut up too tight with an air gun it seems.

I got three wheels off, but on the one thats too tight I've shredded the locking key and it seems the only way to get it off is drill it out.

Is anyone able to help me with it.

I bourght a locking wheel removal tool with the reverse threads but doesnt fit, also that would have been no good coz the middle bit of the nut is slipping. I have attatched a pic,

If anyone can help I'm willing to pay I live in milton keynes.

Unfortunately, I can't see your picture for some reason.

If you can get hold of an (old) 12 pointed socket, a tad smaller than the outer part of the wheel bolt head, you may well be able to drive it over the bolt head, compressing it so that it doesn't slip, then use a normal socket bar to unscrew the bolt.

There are also better tools on the market than the one that you seem to have bought.

Regards
