Hello , i got a Polo 6n from 1996. The car never had any central locking system. I installed a aftermarket kit. It works just fine, but i`m left out with two wires. Those two wires are for the blinkers , left and right. I have no idea where to connect them in order to have my blinkers blink, when i`m opening or closing the car.

A friend of mine had fitted the wires onto his hazard light switch, into the pin 7 and pin 8 from the wire harness. It did not work for me it only made my central locking system lock the car, or open it , if i switch the button.

Please i need some help with this. Thank you.

It should work on those pins of the hazard switch, it might be when the hazards are working there is power feeding back to the locking unit and that's what is causing the unit to lock/unlock, does it do it with the normal indicator operation ? if that's OK you'll need to fit 2 diodes facing away from your new wires of the locking unit, IN4001 diodes will work

This is what happened. Car was off, nothing ON. as soon as i connected one of the two wires on the hazard light switch the car locked on. If i put both wires in, it dose the same. If i leave the wires in and activate the hazard switch it opens the doors, or makes sparks. Not good. What polarity do i need to have from those two wires from the central locking ? both need to be negative? or positive. And what polarity are those two wires from the hazard switch.

The hazard switch works fine without anything connected to it.

What if my two wires need to connect directly to a turn signal. If they are positive maybe i should connect one wire to the positive of a turn signal bulb and the other to the other side. Maybe my kit feeds 12V into those two wires to blink the lights.

The wires/pins you connected to on the hazard switch go to the indicator bulbs, your remote box will feed a 12v pulse out to "flash" the indicator bulbs.

With your box connected to the wires on the hazard switch, do the normal indicators work OK and not affect the box causing it to lock?

If i connect the wires from the lock box to the hazard switch and use the switch as normal , it pulses my car to lock up or to open. it dose not seem normal. I will test today if i get positive pulse from the wires coming from the central locking box. If i get 12V where do i need to connect them?

Let`s think about it, if i connect the 12V+ wire coming from the lock box to a +12V wire from a blinker, that would make all blinkers blink? would that effect the car?. What would happend if i use my turn signals that would trigger my car locking system?

Also, i assume that the car blinking system is connected in two ways. The left side and the right side. If i connect one of the wires from the lock box to one of the blinkers on the left side and one on the right, that would make the car blink?

This video is not minde, also i don`t have the exact model of the locking system, but it shows that this guy connected a LED light to the system, and he has positive pulse to the two wires, and has connected them to the main negative. Where did this guy connect those wires in the car?

I'll repeat my question, with the new wires connected to the hazard switch, when you operate the normal indicators (not the hazard switch) does the unit try to lock/unlock ?

Your unit must put out a +12v signal to light the bulbs, it's the only way they will flash.

About that question, it dose nothing to it, the blinks work fine if i don`t touch the hazard switch, if i do, car locks on and the blinkers never flash. Everything i tried the blinkers never did blink when closing or locking the car.

I did some test right now. here are the results.

There are two wires from the central locking box that are not connected : 1 ( Brown ) and 1 ( white )

Both are positive

If i lock the car the brown wire has +5V , if i open the car brown wires goes to 0 V

If i open the car the white wire has +10V , and if i close the car it goes to 0, and the brown goes back to 5V. And so on.

This tests ware made connecting the positive lead from an multimeter on each of the wires and the negative on the cars metal body. (I did test connecting the negative lead to an negative wire from the car`s lighter wire.

You have two options, don't connect the wires to the indicators, or fit two diodes (IN4001) in your Brown & White wires with the White ring on the diodes facing towards the connection on the cars wiring ( doesn't matter where you connect them too, either the hazard switch or @ the rear light units)

The problem is your unit as it's connected now, is seeing the pulses of voltage on both indicator wires when your using the hazard function and it's then locking/unlocking, so it might be a fault with the unit or just how it's designed?? by fitting the diodes it will stop the power from the hazards going back to the unit, but they will allow the supply from your unit to the bulbs to make them flash

What polarity those two wires from the hazard switch need to be? What is the normal circumstance that needed to be to have everything working as it should. I was thinking what if those wires need to be fitted to the left and right signal wires that come from the turn signal lever. I saw some people on the web that did that. I assume that on polo`s there are two wires responsible for this, one for left and for right side. They need to be under the steering wheel. what do you think?

The wires from the hazard switch join up to the ones on the normal indicator lever and on to the bulbs, so it doesn't matter where you connect your additional wires too.

I tried connecting them to the hazard switch again, this time with a better connection here is what happened. When i connected one of the wire from the lock box it triggered a lock to all doors. I continue and connect both. When both are connected, i opened and closed the car from the remote control. The car did close and open but the blinkers never got on. No sparks nothing. I inverted the wires. tested again. The central locking worked but still no blinkers. i left the wires from the lock box on and i turned on the hazard switch. The central locking did not trigger anything. Turn signals worked, hazard worked, no action on the locking system.

It seems that those wires dose not do anything to the hazard switch. I`m running out of options. The only thing i`m thinking about is the signal light relay. This thing is making me crazy.
