HI everyone

I have looked in the FAQ's but couldn't find anything

Does anybody know a replacement aerial for both the MK2 and 2F. The one on my 2F is crap for signal and can barely get a reception at all, also I'm supposed to be picking up a MK2 on monday and the aerial is knackered on that (all bent and broken)

I would like it to be as original as possible if anybody has a link to one, when I search I just keep getting new tacky ones coming up

Have you searched for universal ones on ebay? The g40s came with one on the roof.

Yeah I've searched but they all look a bit crap and tacky, I've searched for retro universal ones too but the half decent ones I've seen require a further hole to be drilled by the looks of them.

I'll take the aerial off your hands when I get this mk2, Atleast for aesthetic purposes because the one on there is ruined

i could most likley order in a bunch of these if there any use

genner vw , 14mm hole and 20mm long threaded part , 2f would need to use your old plastic bit from the wing

It may not be exactly what your asking but I have used the type you stick to your window and just had it stuck to the back of the glovebox and worked really well. This was on my last 2f which I owned for a week before it was stolen so didn't get a chance to source a replacement as the old one was snapped off.

Gsf part number 892VG0020 should be the right one.

for the mk2 , get a golf16v blanking bung and use a hidden one under the dash/scuttle etc ....

Nice idea really, I wouldn't even use the aerial anyway its just for show, I just use the Ipod plugged in to the radio.

lazy sods fitted a bung on a higher spec golfs so dont count on it lol

I might get a bung too actually. I'm the same, just use a cached Spotify playlist.

There is something about a long shiny aerial that just makes people want to bend it, I'm guessing it's the same thing that makes them do a drawing down the side of the car with a key etc.

Thought of using an electric aerial? I'd love one of them as I always put mine down every time I park up (to avoid some dick ripping it off) but somehow always forget to put it back up.

I mainly use Spotify but there is only so much music I can listen to and sometimes use the radio.

An electric aerial would be so cool if I could get one that worked lol.

The mk1 Toyota mr2 had one. Not something I can be bothered with now though as I have running issues to content with
