9n GT TDI brake upgrade

Featured Replies

I know this has been covered so many times and there is a weath of details on the forum covering this but I have a few questions .

When upgrading to the 312 front brakes , would I be correct in thinking the callipers are the same on the pd130 so all I need is bigger discs and carriers ?

And for the rears I can bolt on TT/vrs/4 motion rear callipers (which are bigger) and carriers to allow 256 disks?

Thanks

Nope, you'll need carriers and calipers from TT225, octy VRS, S3 etc etc for the fronts.

Rears bolt straight on IF they're from a front wheel drive model such as LCR or Octavia vrs.

If you have to get them from a 4wd model you'll need to fit a spacer Inbetween the carrier and the hub mount on the car circa 6mm (can be bought from awesome gti, creation Motorsport and many more)

Legend mate cheers !

I'm tempted to see if the LCR brembos will fit under the 16" montrealls

PD130's use the same caliper/carrier..

No worries, unfortunately they won't. They're a 17" wheel minimum and run a 323mm disc. Good upgrade though. A fair few people run Porsche Boxster rears and also boxster fronts. Creation Motorsport sell adapters for these to be run on a 312mm disc and will fit under 16's albeit some need a spacer to clear!

To re say what I did before, you will need calipers and carriers. They aren't the same caliper as the ones used on the mk4 golds where guys just change carriers - I don't believe you can do this on the 9n/9n3 model calipers. I currently have tt225 calipers, carriers and discs on the front of my 9n3 gti
