Re Introduction

Featured Replies

I thought I would say hi again as I originally introduced myself middle of last year when I was looking to find a mark 2 breadvan. Well here I am some 9 months later and I have an E Reg 1.3 CL Breadvan.

After seeing an advert on ebay for a car in Aylesbury that seemed to fit the bill despite being rough round the edges my father who lives 30 mins away was duly sent to have a look for me. Following a phone where he told me it started, ran and stopped but was rotten on the sills and arches, I duly paid a deposit and headed down from the North West. I got to the car in the dark had a quick look round paid the rest of the money and drove it the 3 hours back home......

Well it was an interesting trip with a broken drivers seat and windscreen wipers that would only work when spraying water and there was already plenty of that coming from the sky! Having said that it drove sweet as a nut, no knocks or bangs, quiet engine that's willing

So I have it home now and have started the 'build' / 'rebuild' process, I intend as much as possible to keep it a rolling restoration as it keeps the interest high. I intend to first off sort the issues that are needed to keep her rolling, whilst acquiring the parts I need for a full respray etc. After this I want to have a play with the 1.3 lump that I want to keep but breath on. I am hoping to leave her looking pretty much standard but quick enough and drivable.

Anyway, hi! Membership cost is in the post and hopefully I get to meet and see some of you at up coming shows..... I'll be the one with a long shopping list of patts needed!!

I was going to add pictures from my phone but I am struggling as they are too big and I've no idea how to compress them on my phone.

Welcome dude!

Looking forward to your build thread!

Edit: are you using tapatalk? It's handy when uploading images as it will do the resizing for you etc.

Hi Steve welcome along

Sounds like good plans you have there! You can use photobucket to upload your images and then click the Image link, after that just paste it in here :)

While your at it you should put up a build thread too :)

greetings 😉

as for uploading pics, if you have a photobucket account, upload them to there and then copy and paste the image code across.
