Lost immob fob

Featured Replies

Hey guys so I've misplaced the fob for my immobiliser and just trying to bring my old G40 back out of hiding... it's been on the car well over 10 years so not sure of my options in obtaining a replacement fob! It's a Meta M96 by the looks of things.

I've had a quick look at removing it and that this point should highlight my distinct lack of knowledge of all things electrical. Now I'm not looking for someone to respond publicly anything that might aid theft but PM's where necessary would be greatly appreciated.

There is a switch attached to the module but I suspect that this will simply switch off the led &/or siren rather than the immob function, would people agree? I do not have the key for this but arguably with the 4 wires (black, blue, red &I brown) that run in to it I would expect that bridging the relevant wires should have the same impact as turning the key had I ever had it! If this switch will is likely to turn off the full unit then any guidance on which wires to bridge would be great!

Next option is try and figure out what it cuts, ignition or ignition & fuel and then how I bypass this by rewiring... But that is where my knowledge starts to fall down so again any guidance welcomed!

Cheers,

Normally all the more basic ones do on older cars is cut the feed to the fuel pump. Run a bypass wire and see if that solves it.
