I have a 1.0l 4speed mk2f breadvan and in process of changing it to a 1.3 8valve, does anyone know if the 4peed box will be driveable with the 1.3 or do I need a 5 speed

wouldnt it be more economical to use the 5 speed box than the 4 speed one?

It will be fine and probably drive no differently to before. Just maybe a bit more poke with 10 extra ponies. As above the 5 speed would possibly just help with economy assuming you get something like an 8P gearbox with a long 5th.

Ye pretty much what I fought, thanks for advice if anyone has or know of anyone with a 5 speed box message me lol, gonna put engine back in tomorrow with the single point injection till find cheaper carbs, what type of carbs are best for this engine

There was a guy who lives in Stockport who was selling a 5 speed a few months ago. Can't remember the code but there was a slight fault with it... I'll see if I can find it as you're quite nearby.
