vw polo 6n2 folding sunroof

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 2000 1.4 Volkswagen Polo 6n2 which I bought off a private owner. It was advertised as "Sportline" but after searching a bit on the internet i couldn't find any Volkswagen models described as "Sportline,"

Anyway, I have a sunroof exactly identical to the sunroof in the image here : http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/g/kDMAAOSw8-tWZX~T/s-l225.jpg

The problem with it is that when I press the button to retract the sunroof, it seems to retract from the right side and get jammed from the left side (seen from the drivers seat looking upwards).

Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem could be?

If so, would it be an expensive fix or a difficult fix? I heard that to fix this sunroof the whole roof interior needs to be stripped away and then re-attached which I imagine could be quite costly.

I would really appreciate some feedback from you guys, and thanks in advance

P.s I'm not sure how much bhp I should be getting, at top speed in top gear I've only reached 80mph which is actually very disappointing The 1400cc engine does feel a bit sluggish at times, especially taking into consideration that the car is not extremely heavy. On a positive note though, it's very nippy and actually quite quick around corners.

Cheers all

If its a 1.4 Mpi 8v, then its only 60hp. The top speed ain't great but they are nippy!
