Hey I'm new to the forum and have been given a 1999 Polo 1.4L 6n only has 60k just wondering if anyone knows about this kinda stuff

All the speakers are standards however the current stereo is a Kenwood KDC-3021 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kenwood-KDC-3021-CD-Tuner/dp/B00007BKQZ

I currently have:
FLI 12" 1kw Sub using 250w AMP included with it ( I believe this doesnt hook up with the current stereo) (shown in image) (not sure if works entirely)

Just want to know what will and wont work with this setup and how difficult it will be to install, sorry this is my first car and have no idea about this stuff

The headunit will work fine you shouldn't need the iso adaptor the new stereo should plug right into your existing wiring you will need a aerial adaptor.

As for the speakers it's upto you were you want the tweeters if they fit in factory location that would be the best option.

For the subwoofer you will need a wiring kit wire power wire from battery to 12v connection on amp,run rca's and remote turn on lead from headunit to amp and finally find a suitable earth spot and connect this to the Gnd connection on your amp.

Headunit is a straight swap. However I can't see any info on the one you posted having an RCA output (which you need to run the sub)

Try this one, cheaper and a general nice little stereo which will do everything you need.

As for the speakers, they will fit just fine. Using again the factory wiring, simple cut and strip the ends of the 2 wires and crimp some spade connectors on. (you could twist and tape them together, but best practice to put proper connectors on)

The small speakers are known as tweeters. As yes, you could go through the struggle of putting them in place of the old units but that's a lot of swearing and ballache which isn't necessary. You can mount these pretty much anywhere. Somewhere in the door car is probably best. Just cut a hole big enough to mount them, making sure there is enough clearance when fitted that it doesn't foul the window glass when rolled down.

If you don't want any of that hassle, you can just upgrade to some coaxial speakers, which have the tweeter attached to the main speaker. Not as good quality, but they're much easier to fit.

Lastly the sub, you will an 8 gauge wiring kit which you can get anywhere.

You'll power-ground-RCA-remote.

Power simply runs from the battery terminal with an inline fuse closest to battery (should be included in the pack) run that down one side of the car and through clutch grommet. Bit of pain but its the best way to route the wire.

Ground will be anywhere in the boot, find a bolt of sorts attached the chassis, but remember to sand away the paint to get a connection.

RCA runs from the back of the stereo to the amp. Run that wire the opposite side to the power as that case cause interference with the signal the RCA is sending.

Lastly the remote wire (nearly always blue) will attached to the blue wire that should be short and attached to the wire loom plugged into the back of the stereo. This can be run down either side, and goes into the remote terminal on the amp.

Explained everything the best I can. Hopefully this should give you the heads up you need to complete the job.

I'm going to get everything ordered this week.

If you want to fit the tweeters in factory spot (which is a good spot firing right at the windscreen) then the easiest way of doing it is to order 2 sets of older style generic speaker wire adaptors (£1.99 for a pair on eBay) the first pair wil go behind the door speakers and simply plug into the speakers and clip on to the original wiring connector.

The second one will go into the connector behind the grille on the dash.

Depending on what type of component setup you go for, some will have a proper crossover unit - in this case you will need to cut some wires and connect them to the input on that and use the wiring adaptor on the woofer side, then just add wires from the tweeter directly on to the tweeter output on the crosser. The units can usually be cable tied to the air ducting underneath the grilles.

If they are the more common type and don't have a seperate crossover, then this is ideal and just connect the tweeter straight to the wires on the adaptor and then just screw them to the dash under the grille job done. This way you don't have to cut anything and can easily remove them if need be and connect the old ones back on.
