6kv5 lower windscreen trim, to cover cabin filter

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Anyone know where I can get a replacement lower windscreen trim for a 6kv5? I've scoured local breakers, ebay, online motor factors etc.

Mine is cracked & letting in water. Trouble is, the part is REALLY flimsy. Think the type of plastic inside a chocolate box but brittle, and you're there. As a result I really need one that is either new and professionally packed, or that is close enough for me to drive to a donor car & transplant.

I've done a temporary fix over the cracks with some weatherproof tape topped with a thin layer of silicone, but that won't last forever. . .

Thanks in advance for your help.

you'll just have to buy a new one, I doubt the ones from a scrapyard will be much better than yours, because this trim is really poorly made.

try VW or any other supplier online

Thank you for the advice on the part numbers mishawel, most appreciated.

Not sure whether mine is early or late, but I'm sure I'll figure that out! I'll get looking straight away.

Agree that these trim pieces are poorly made. At the risk of being controversial, they're stamped 'Seat' not VW, and my failing memory is telling me that in 1999, something with a Seat badge wasn't the byword for engineering that we all associate with VW. . .

It's stamped "Seat" because yours is basically a Seat Cordoba but with a VW badge on it :)

if you have the 6n2/lupo interior than you're the later model

Many thanks Mishawel, in which case mine's the earlier model. . .

Ah well, I'll just have to console myself that my lupo is a real VW... not a pretend one like the polodoba.
