The 2 interested parties appear to be car registration company buyer.

The stories of needing to know the full reg No range from needing a quote for the car when its finished - REALLY !!!
To needing it for insurance purposes for when they trailer it away - DOUBLE F*KN REALLY !!!!!

people often want the reg number as you can look up previous mot's to see if its had lots of problems/rust in the past ...or on more valuble stuff see if its had the milage messed with

Yeah the information you can get from just a registration number these days is very handy when buying a car. I'd personally not even leave the house to see a car before I have the full registration number, done a basic history check and had a good look through the MOT history. 

I get that and i do that myself on any potential purchases for family, friends and myself but when the emails leading up to asking are about the reg valuation then i know what angle they are coming from

cant you remove the reg and sell it then?

Its a lot of messing about and if im going to do that i may as well bolt on all the replacement parts, MOT it and sell in for alot more
