Connecting a Amp to my stock Headunit..

Featured Replies

Hello all does anybody know if it is possible to to connect a amp to my stock Headunit in my MK8 6R 2015 model.

I noticed that it's just a thin lcd headunit in some pictures .. I know you have to remove trim around the unit to get access to the unit. I'm wondering if there are any adaptors to connect my amp as in all my previous golf mk4 an bora mk4 I was able to connect it to the stock unit.

I have looked every where and I have been told that you can't do it.

Just wondering if anyone can shed a bit of light to say yes there is a solution.

Adam.

Depending on what unit you have fitted ? the RCD 310 & 510 have an AUX output for an amp

You may need a low line converter, which will connect in to your standard speaker outputs to make the feed suitable to be wired into an AMP

Hi thanks for the reply.

Mine is a big screen one and looks like the RDS 510 unit.

And when you say it may need to be wired in to the speakers where would the rca and remote leads go from the amp? Would I need this low line converter?

Thanks in Advice.

If it's the 510 then there is a dedicated AUX output for an amp
