I had the drop plates replaced about 4 months ago so i don't think it's them, however it does seem to making a similar sound...any ideas? o.O

It sounds like a creaking sound come from the back wheels, really not sure what it is and I had my car serviced a couple days ago and it wasn't picked up, the problems picked up were front discs, pads, tyres and timing chain maybe in the future, and clutch is going...

Possibly bushes? As the rubber get old it deteriorates and could be the cause of the creak.
Another possibility are the dampers, they could creak. Try a bounce test, go to one corner of the car at a time then push down at the corner hard so the suspension goes down (as far down as possible) then let go and watch it rise back up, do this a couple of times at each corner and each time the car should rise back up rebound a couple of times then settle, if the car takes a while to settle then it's possible it's the dampers.

The test may show nothing wrong (and the creak could still be coming from the dampers) but it takes, literally, 1 minute. Just make sure you're pushing down on a solid bit of bodywork, a kid at my college decided to push down on the bonnet and yea...

A lot depends upon how the servicing is conducted and how the people who do the work are paid.

There are some very good garages around, who check over everything and give the vehicle a road test.

On the other hand, there are some who do little more than change the oil and filter - bonus payments can make this procedure a big temptation.

Unless you asked them to check for this noise, it is possible that your car did not get a road test, in which case the operative (I won't use the title 'mechanic') may never have known about the problem.

I would recommend that you start with the basics, making sure that the road wheels are correctly tightened, then check all suspension joints and mountings.
