thanks and no not a project its so clean no rust and only 33k miles for a 24 year old car. just want to lower it and new wheels and tyres

Yep a decent set can be expensive. For now I've just got some mk2 golf steels which will be going on soon. Until i can afford something else ...

As for lowering id say go 40-60mm. Seems to be a popular choice???

yeah thought about going 60-40mm but them i am changing from 13inch wheels to 14 inch does this matter??

I got one for you , standard height ride mk2f breadvan got some golf 14" steels rubber advice ?

165/55/14, should fit nicely on the wheel and shouldn't cause you any issues with the rear arches.

They're only "rare" because no one wanted them, I must have scrapped at least a dozen sets in back in the day

End of the day, do your car your way. Although do keep in the back of your mind what a clean, low mileage, standard 2f is going to be worth in about 5 years (here's a clue..... look at what mk2 prices are doing at the minute).

yeah want to keep as much standard as i can just want to lower it and a nice set of wheels but cant decide
