Hi, I have a Polo 6n2 with an electric open top sunroof exactly like the one in the picture

When I try to open the sunroof it begins to retract from the right but jams from the left (from the driver's seat position).

A mechanic has given me an estimated cost of repair at €600 (£472.74). He says that the interior trim needs to be removed in order to access the sunroof which makes cost so high for this repair, however a repair kit costs just €40 (£31.52)

I was wondering how much should it cost to fix this and if there are any ways I can do it myself to save money

You may will be able to do the work yourself, fitting the parts is not difficult, the fun bit is in getting the trim back in place without making a hash of it.

That does sound expensive, and it may pay to ask either a body shop, coach trimmer or a VW specialist to give you a quote for doing the work.
