Do you think it is possible to convert an old contact spark distributor (036 905 205) into contactless using repair kit for hall sensor? I.e. the sensor itself and mounting details, screws etc.

I don't think so because the repair kit does not include the rotating crown that interrupts the Hall sender, and the whole mechanism would be hard to fit in a points distributor.

Maybe a Golf 1.8i 16V GTi distributor for engine code KR/PL would fit?

I bought a 051905205B as a spare for my GK which has Hall Sender (and Dignition) but old slot camshaft.

Did not know until today that were 3 variants of distributor

Actually it does include that thing. Have ordered it. Will report as it comes does it fit or no.
