I have a problem with my Polo Mk2f Windscreen wipers, they squeak in use.

 

i have tried cleaning the windscreen, replaced the blades and also adjusted the wiper arms so that the rubbers are trailing on the upwards sweep but no joy.

 

any ideas welcome.

Wax the windscreen

Are you sure it is the wipers that are squeaking? Have you tried greasing up the mechanism?

I will try the wax option.

 

I am pretty confident its the rubber that is squeaking as it dissappears if I lift the arms off the screen and operate the wipers ... the mechanism has been lubricated.

I wouldn't wax the screen lol, you will only get massive smears everytime its raining and the wipers are on.

 

I use RainX rain repellent, it coats the screen in a film that makes the rain run off, also makes the wipers smoother. Should work.

Psh I always wax mine when I wax the car, I don't get smears and it basically does the same thing without being as expensive as RainX
