I am going through a process at the moment with headlights because I have a mish mass of H4 and R2 headlights. Some of the headlights I have are missing the reflective surface on the glass. So I am thinking of how I can get mirror paint back on to that surface. Also I am going to investigate if it is possible to swap a R2 bulb holder for a H4 one on the headlight. By mistake I bought some left hand drive headlights which of course would not pass a MOT but they do have plastic mounts which means that they are not going to rust and could have the right hand drive headlights adapted to them. H4 headlights do come up on Ebay occasionally for around £20 but be aware the reflective surface on the inside could be missing. I think if you find someone at a car parts supplier that has  enthusiastic  people working for them they will probably find new ones somewhere but they will probably be expensive.
