1998 Volkswagen Polo 1.6 GL 8v Mk4 6N ONLY 56k miles! Clutch Slipping

Used daily until the clutch started slipping last week.

This car is in mint condition and becoming rare to see on the roads today. I was planning on selling it when the MOT expired, but now that it will need a new clutch fitting I am putting it up for .99p start with no reserve.

The Polo is in excellent condition and was used daily, the engine is strong and has had regular oil changes. Grab an absolute bargain for a smart, retro 90’s hatchback!

The Polo was bought in May 2013 with 25,673 miles and 1 previous owner. It was then sent to a VW specialist garage who replaced the timing belt, tensioner, relay rollers, water pump and did a major service.  The car has been regularly serviced and maintained in my ownership with loads of receipts.

15” alloy wheels are from a VW Passat 35i and a direct replacement. There are a few scuffs and are in good condition. The tyre tread is getting low, but will last a few more hundred miles on the front. The rear has more tread.

The car is lowered 30mm on Eibach Pro lowering springs, this gives vastly improved handling without affecting drivability. When the car was purchased it had been mostly dry stored in a garage, so the underside was completely undersealed.

There are a few small patches of rust on the body that can be treated easily. The Polo is 18 years old and the body has a few dents and repairs, for its age this car looks brilliant. The boot is fitted with a VW group Zender spoiler, this is a rare VW endorsed OEM upgrade.

The VW Polo Mk 5 interior was a direct replacement and the front seats are in excellent condition with no holes, rips or tears. The rear bench has a small cigarette burn. There is a Pioneer CD player with aux input.

All electrics (windows/heaters/lights/etc) work as they should and the car starts first time, never letting me down. I have maintained this car extensively in my ownership and it has been very reliable.

Needs New Clutch – any inspection welcome prior to auction end
