6N2 GTI central locking - indicators flash but locks don't work

Featured Replies

Had a new key fob after losing other key. Worked fine for a week but yesterday, hit the button on the fob, the indicators flashed as normal but the locks didn't go down. tried a few times but not working. Had to lock everything down manually. No noise from pump that i usually hear. However when it was working it did sound like the pump was an old man getting up the stairs on a chair lift. Is this a pump issue or just wiring/connections? thanks

Have you checked for a blown fuse? if that's OK The pump unit in the boot is most likely full of water, if you remove it and pull it apart you might be lucky and be able to dry it out, if not there are normally plenty for sale on here or ebay

nice one thanks. yeah i checked through the fuses and all seemed to be ok. got in to the boot yesterday. the biggest issue was not being able to open the fuel filler cap but took pipe off, gave it a blow( oi oi!) and popped that cap so i can still drive, lock and fill the car. I will revisit it and try pulling it apart. Am guessing then the big chamber is just supposed to be empty as its an air based system? cheers

Sorted! Cheers. Wouldnt have gone into the pump if you hadn't mentioned it. Wasn't wet anywhere but some corrosion on the pcb.Bit of electical contact spray and back together
