So I have my coilovers :) done the rears peice of cake! But I'm sooooo Stuck with the fronts :/ loosened the hub nut on each side and that's as far as I got... referring to my Haynes manual and mine seems to be completely different... I'm sorry for the begginer question but could someone just tell me the tools I need and give me a quick run through how to remove the whole shock please! Mainly the brake part as that's where I'm stuck!

It's a 1.05 '88 square back, Sorry again.

Removing the brake setup is easy. If the carrier bolts look OK then just loosen up the 2 x 15mm bolts and pull the assembly off as 1 unit. 

 

Then to remove the strut it is just a case of loosening the pinch bolts for the bottom ball joint, the 17mm nut for the track rod end and the 19mm nut for the top cap then the strut should just pull out.

 

Since the coilovers come as a complete unit all you need to do then is swap over the top mount then do the reverse of the above.

Are these the bolts covered by a rubber thing? 

 

No, they are further in than them. On the carrier.
