Thought I'd show my Mk2f H reg.

 

Only had this car for 3 days. She's my third Polo. I've only had a standard 6n and a standard 9n before this, so a big change for me.

 

I have very little knowledge of mechanics I would like to point out, I just enjoy owning these Polo's! This one was bought as she stands in the photo. She was given a fair 6/10 respray in this baby blue and came with the Speedlines and numerous drilled holes in the dash to suit some sub and other chavy accessories. I bought the car with 60k miles for £300. After 3 weeks in a local garage and £375 later the car was given 12 months MOT and has is now with me as my daily.

 

I will be swapping the Speedlines for some banded steels and a few exterior parts. They're too big and rub against the arch which is unbearable. The car is also lowered 60/40 I think. I may raise it back to standard height if it keeps restricting me. I also have a debadged grill and smoked rear lights to be popped on soon. The interior is all standard and a lot of the bits are loose. Most of my work will be spent there I imagine.

 

I am looking for recommendations as to what to do to the car. (Nothing too intense mechanically!) more looking for interior ideas and any additional body work to be done. Open to ideas, I don't have a perticular 'look' or 'theme', just want to tidy her up a bit, and remove any of the horrible mods she had beforehand.

 

If anyone is willing to help I can get more pictures of interior or exterior etc.

What's wrong with the paint? Is it flat or does it have runs etc?

Nice subtle mods can be done such as the red pinstripe for front and rear bumpers, GT/G40 seats and steering wheel. Rare grilles with lamps in can be found such as hella or votex. Also morrettes lights and grille but I doubt you would find them

No, no severe runs of anything mate, just looks like they've masked off parts which have oversprayed here and there. I think they did quite well and removed all the interior carpet and sprayed under it, but just didn't spray around engine bay. Unless you were really trying to look closely it isn't half bad. I wouldn't have picked the colour myself but it stands out and isn't horrible.

 

I'm going to sort the ride out first, and then I'll be looking into bumpers definitely. You may be able to see that someone possibly drilled holes in the front bumper to suit some add on lamps? Adding to that, there looks like some galvanised mesh has been added lower on the bumper? I definitely need to invest in something sharper. Maybe pinstripe the bumper to match?

 

I'm going to look for new seats and other subtle interior changes when anything pops up for sale. I'll have to think about some lamps depending on what bumpers I get.

It's a nice colour I think and it looks decent in the picture, I would find out the paint code in case you ever need work on paint in the future though

One guy a while back on here bought the red pinstripe from eBay and just painted it the same colour as his car and it looked really good so that's an idea

Thanks mate, I was ideally looking for a Mk2f in black, grey or white to be picky but this isn't the worst colour.

 

I'm definitely going to look into colouring the pin stripe to match the baby blue. I think it wouldn't look too bad with the original red pin striping but I'd prefer to colour code!

 

I'll look around to see what bits I can pick up. :)
