6n2 take 2!

Featured Replies

Well about a year and a half ago i decided to get rid of my much loved 6n2 as i got a mk1 caddy. Don't know if anyone will remember it as it didn't really get around much.

Well about 2 weeks after i got rid of the 6n2 my caddy went on axle stands and was stripped to a shell (current state). So between then and now i had a little 1L bread van polo that i "put up with" as i thought the caddy would be done a lot sooner. Well the little polo died last month and left me without wheels and after many an argument between me and my mum i went against her telling me to get a newer more reliable car and decided a 6n2 Gti was much needed :D

I seem to recall the purple with the bmx on top, what was your reason for another 6n2 GTi? Got the same plans or going to go down a different route?

Cant really afford insurance on anything special just now and missed driving a wee 6n2  :D  The caddy is still top priority so not going to be spending big money on this just going to add and change bits and pieces as i go and see what happens. With that said coilovers and wheels are sitting in my eBay basket haha

Well the other night i found out my much loved 6n2 had been scrapped (RIP Polo) so i messaged the boy to see if he had any parts lying around. Most of the car was gone but managed to get a hold of my old tail gate which i was fairly chuffed about. Thinking about putting a badge back on it but not to sure.

Well this week i put the car into my local garage just for a look over just to make sure everything was okay. The car was supposadly MOT'd less than a month ago.... yeah load of shite. Got an fair sized list of things that need sorted thankfully nothing that will really break the bank. So got the car back today as I've decided to fix all the problems myself to save some money.

Also this happened tonight

Right i need help here guys. Came out to my car today and for some reason the central locking has randomly stopped working so i now have to open the door manually and one at a time :-( Anyone know what would cause this?

Could be the central locking pump? (in the boot, drivers side behind the rear lights)

Checked the fuses today and everything was okay but thankfully found the culprit.

Think the water had leaked in from behind the light and ran into the central lock pump. Can see all the blue on the circuit board. cleaned it up and works fine now.

Well a little update from this week :D

First off all i got rid off the stickers on the boot lid as they looked daft in my opinion :pardon:

Steering wheel on the car was doing my head in as it was well worn out so something had to be done. Got a KingFab steering wheel off a friend a while back that was meant to be going on the caddy but due to it being up on blocks it doesn't really need one. Not to keen on the colour but i got it cheap so wasn't going to complain.

Also managed to get the camber shims fitted but never again as they were a pain in the arse. probably didn't help with them being doubled up.

Put 20mm spacers on so had to roll the arches a bit but think I'm going to invest in 15s instead as the 20s are a tad to big.

And finally some grinding and welding with more to come :D

Also got the camber sorted and the arches fixed. Not as low as i would like but not much i can do until i get new tyres.
