you can fit the discs and pads if you also fit the vw2 calipers    should be fine on standard rear drums ,theyre strong enough

  • i suspect you may well get away with exchanging old calipers , ,make sure theyre filthy in a old carrier bag and no one will look too hard

If you need a reg number, J839PDD is my old G40 reg.

Thought I'd ask on here rather than making a new thread.

Where's the best place to get the calipers? & does everything bolt on etc?

Euro Car Parts can provide new calipers and even give you money back if you have old ones to give them.

The calipers will bolt right up to your standard carriers, however one of the slider bolts is longer, but they are available online from the likes of eBay. Mk2 Golf had the same calipers (except the 16v) so you may have better luck finding parts searching for mk2 Golf.

Okay thanks

The only problem with eurocarparts is you need a reg number for the car

& I couldn't swap my calipers as they're a different model?

Thanks for the help Steve & kwijibo brakes are being done next payday so I'll let you know how I get on
