Mk2/f window removal?

Featured Replies

I recently bought a me/f bread van and I am going to paint it. I would like to remove the windscreen and rear side windows. I do not have any spares so I'm looking for a little guidance before I dive in and smash them all :)

is it just a case of lifting part of the inner rubber over the lip then pushing the windows out from the inside?

Also, I'm looking to paint the door shuts, do I NEED to take off the wings to get the doors off or can they come off without?

I have owned my daily mk2/f for over a year but have never taken it apart so this is new to me :)

thanks

The windscreen and side windows are just a case of folding the rubber on the inside over the lip and pushing them out. You can do them by yourself but having a second pair of hands would be good especially for the windscreen.

The doors yes they are just held on with 2 x 15mm?? bolts and a pin for the check strap that just knocks out. Open the door wide and you'll see them. No need for the wing to come off. However if you are by yourself and especially when it comes to refitting I'd have the front wings off. The doors when fully built up with all the glass etc. are pretty heavy and hard to handle. So having the wings off saves damaging the paint on either the doors or the wings.

Awesome thanks buddy.

Another thing ink I am a little confused on is how to take the door handles off? There is a little plastic strip that comes off and what looks like a small torx head bolt behind it. There is a large screw on the other side and this makes the handle loose but I can't take it out.

Ami being thick?

Thanks again.

Just those 2 screws hold them on. Just give it a little wiggle and it should come out. I think my might need to slide forward slightly?
