Advice following car being left on my friends drive

Featured Replies

After some advice for a colleague at work.  So my friends sells his car over the weekend to a trader.  Guys come to collect it and asks if he can leave his car on the road outside.  My friend lets him park on his drive.  The guys says that he will collect the car on Sunday morning.  Sunday comes and goes and no word from buyer.  My mates checks the car out and it's insured and has mot but no tax.  Several texts later and the guy agrees to collect today but doesn't show again.

any ideas on what he should do and legally can do.

First thing I would do is check with the police that the car isn't reported stolen

Checked this and it's not, however it had no tax, eventually after lots of calls and promises and 4 days it was collected last night.
