Polo coupe gt 1991

Does anyone have a clip going spare that holds the purge valve in place? As can be seen my clip has broken off and the valve moves around. If anyone has a spare I'll pay sensible plus postage. Thanks

I do like to keep the car in as original state as possible. Trying hard to keep it going without doing any major modifications. Thanks.

What is the benefit on removing the carbon canister ? Is it a part that should be replaced after time service etc ?

C.W. can you not use cable tie for now ?

Never heard of removing it before but someone must have done it. Interesting to see the effect it has on the running of the car. Can cable tie for now that's a great idea but long term I would like to replace like for like.

ok well the idea was that instead of like older cars where the tank fumes vent to the atmosphere , these ones have the carbon canister and all the pipes so that these fumes are dealt with in a green way

after 20 years its more a source of vac /air leaks and most of it can be removed with zero effects on how the car runs ....my polo never had it but my g60 did and now the tank vent pipe just sits in the airbox so any fumes get taken into the engine
