There's a bolt under the boner either side of the heater. Also in behind the side air vents if you flip up the vent. Unclip/unscrew the steering column cover and the tray below the glove box, pretty much everything that isn't part of the main dash can come off so you can see where the screws are. There's also a screw right next to the door seal just above the hinge. The mk3 ones have 2 metal brackets somewhere too.

Yeah as citrus says, there are two bolts under the bonnet right up under the windscreen remove them.

Everything else is inside the car. I start by removing radio, heater panel, switches, steering wheel, clocks etc

Then center console screws are the all around the place just keep going around until everything loose :)

 

Be careful of your headlining where it come down the pillars behind the dash, easily ripped!
