No Brake Fluid at Wheels

Featured Replies

Evening,

Just trying to finish my Mk2 after a two year restoration.  Fitted a new bulkhead to take a servo but can't get the brakes bled.  Have pumped for over an hour but no fluid coming to any wheel - any suggestions appreciated - going on holiday this weekend for a week so hope to finish when I get back.

Regards

dodgy m/c maybe?

you could try cracking the nipples overnight and see if gravity works

or brand new clean oil can with some hose on the end and reverse bleed it via the nipples

You could also try disconnecting the pipes from the M/C, putting your fingers over the ports in the M/C (to act as a valve) and have an assistant pump the pedal - that might 'prime' the M/C.

WARNING: Cover the area with plenty of rag - Brake fluid is a brilliant paint remover!! - So throw the rag away afterwards.

Regards
