Hi folks,

I want to swap front seat bases in Polo Match, 2009, drivers and passengers, to even out the wear. I hope to be able to remove and swap over the padded part and the fabric. Can this be done at all? If so how long might it take. Would I need to remove the seat backrests and/or the lower plastic trim and tray?

According to my VW dealer the seat bases/cushions are the same part for driver and passenger. Seems like the whole seat, so thats both seats, has to be removed to do the job.  

Seat bases appear to be the same part and are therefore swappable.

The seat foam is the same for either side, the base the foam sit on are different left/right

As long as the foam and fabric can be swapped over that's all I need.  The fact that the metal(?)  seat base is different for driver and passenger doesn't bother me. I've decided to double check part numbers again, with at least two different dealer's next week. Ask folks about accessories or tuning and there's lots of info, ask them about seats and its a different matter. I also need to know why I can't pull off the head rest, ridiculous.

The headrests pull out when you squeeze the plastic bit on the top of the backrest
