Electric window fault

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My daughter bought herself  a 55 plate polo to learn to drive in , she is doing really well but.the only problem is the electric windows don't work, the car is with my friend right now who has stripped off the door cards and had a look , he unplugged the motor and plugged it into a spare I had bought and the spare motor worked fine, he then plugged it.back into the motor connected to.window and it worked ok for a bit , put.door card.back on tried it and it had stopped working , unplugged motor again plug back it and it works OK but 10 minutes and then stops ! Any ideas ?

  • Poor wiring where cables enter door? (flexing each time door opened).   Check all the obvious connections for corrosion then pull/push cables until it starts/stops working.

Cheers bud , done all that , windows work when I put key in door and lock and unlock, all switches tested and OK , not sure if it's related but the central locking has a mind of its own

Have a look at this,
