9n remote central locking help

Featured Replies

Hi guys a little help/advice needed if possible, I have a 54 plate 9n with central locking and I would like to get remote central locking on it.

I have bought a universal kit off ebay which I have fitted before to other cars but cannot Get it to work on this one, I'm assuming that I can't get it to work because of the slightly complicated convenience system on the car. So basically has anyone managed to get a universal system to work or do I have to buy a convenience module, key and drivers door lock from another car which has the remote system on it and get it coded?

Any help would be greatly received.

Many thanks.

First Welcome to the forum.

Those universal kits are not really compatable with your car, as it uses a single wire for the lock/unlock signal by switching different resistances for the two signals, it can be done but you need to find out the resistance values and splice into the single wire and fit the resistors into the wires from the universal locking box, It's much easier to replace the CCM (comfort Control Module) with one that has the remote control option, there is a full guide in the FAQ section of this section.

Thanks mate I'll have a look at that and see if I can get it sorted.
