Muffler Delete, Worth Declaring?

Featured Replies

I was thinking of removing the rear muffler and just replacing it with a section of pipe. Is this something I should bother with declaring with my insurer? My thoughts were since I'm only removing a part I don't need to declare it but if it's something you guys would recommend me doing I'll give them a call.

Cheers, Alex

My advise would be first remove the middle silencer instead. The rear silencers do most of the silencing, removing it will make your car unbearably loud for both you and your neighbours. Secondly yes declare it or at least speak to your insurer about it. Even if they say they don't class that as a modification or whatever at least that call will be logged and recorded should anything happen further down the line.

Okay I'll try that, hopefully my insurers won't be too funny about it. They said coilovers would void my insurance so who knows

Hi,
