Hi am sure a few people have had this problem with the socket on the cigarette lighter on Mk2f.  When i try using the satnav the the plug does not fit very well and sometimes falls out,  how do I get over this problem?

i went onto ebay and bought a modern replacement and swapped that over , can get differant colours if you fancy a swap too

might be worth rewiring it too , i notice mine cant handle much as it shares the radio fuse , so i can either have sat nav or radio not both lol , if i could be bothered id wire it direct to the batt with a thicker cable and suitable fuse 

Me and wires you forgot how long it took me to wire in radio on my other breadvan

yeah just saying it would be an upgrade ....think its a fairly easy job to swap in a newer lighter socket 

Ok I try a newer lighter socket 1st , any old one on ripoffbay will do ?

yeah pretty much universal i think ...pic one with a built in light if you want it to light up 

 

was a long time ago now...i think i needed a dab of epoxy on the back side of mine to keep it steady
