I jacked my car up this weekend and found my drivers side coilover like this...one nut and clearly kept in place with some sort of tape or stuff. Im wanting to raise the car to make it more driveable but Im thinking it might be best to get another set/pair of them. I have a mk2 polo classic (saloon) and was wondering if any other sets may fit my car as I cant seem to find any? Thanks in advance!

So you have no locking ring? If you know the make of the coilovers it shouldn't be too hard to get a locking ring. Much cheaper than a new set of coilovers considering the cheapest sets are in the region of £300+

Unfortunately I have no idea what brand they are, although the black coil spring still has its details/barcode on this tassle hanging off of it. If that gets me nowhere, I'll measure the thread. How hard would it be to add another ring onto the thread? 

With the strut of the car, springs off and thread cleaned up the new ring should screw on nice and easy :)
