Hey everyone! 

 

Me again with another question, hope it lives in this subcategory. 

 

My 6N1 Automatic Polo is meant to have a light underneath the gear selector to show me what's selected in the dark, but it doesn't work.

 

Assuming the bulb is gone, I've rummaged around and removed the exterior trim, and found the bulb but it appears to be soldered into at least some of the plastic there. So I've gone searching online but can't find this part listed anywhere, or even what bulb to get if I'm going to just replace the bulb and resolder. Anyone have any ideas?

Number 23, which is listed as:

I've never had to change one of these, but according to the link that you provide, number 23 on there says bulb carrier with bulb, so I would think that you are supposed to change the complete item 23 - that doesn't mean that you couldn't have a go at soldering in a suitable bulb - if you can locate one, that is.

It might be worth calling in at the parts department of your local VW dealer, taking a copy of that drawing with you.

Yeah it would be easier to just replace the whole part but I'm still yet to find a part number, or this part for sale anywhere. 

 

I never think to try the dealership though... I'll give them a go.

Hi all,

I have the same issue with the light on the gearbox not illuminating the "D" but the other gears are lit up correctly.

Is there a simple way to replace the light on a 2012 Polo 6R model?
