I have only ever used 'standard' discs and pads - It all depends on what you are looking for, for normal road use, I don't find any problems with the standard brakes, but if you are into track use, then there may be some benefit from so called 'upgrades.'

If you do require better braking, due to track use or driving style, don't forget that the tyres are just as much part of the braking system as the brakes themselves - There isn't much point in having 'brilliant' brakes if the tyres won't grip the road, resulting in the ABS working overtime.

Happy new year

I would go with this company http://www.mtecbrakes.com/  had them on my Ibiza and so far on the rear of my Octy estate, excellent products, great prices and can't fault them for stopping power, had some other "cheap" drilled discs and within a few 100 miles found why they were cheap !! distorted to f**k

I've found that using standard discs and spending money on the pads is the best all round combination.
Also remember that good brakes aren't just about the discs and pads. Even the best discs and pads will feel rubbish if they are used with old fluid and old rubber flexi lines.
