upgraded my speakers today on a bit of a budget so had a look around and found some jvc ones that fit straight into where the others were and I've got a say what a bargain!! 32 quid brand new and there brilliant 

 

 

I kinda blew the old ones.. oops?

Cool. I need to do this as one of mine has perished. I'v still got the VW Gamma head unit in mine though. would it struggle to power these I wonder...

@nuyorican I still have the orginal head unit in mine and tbh it's not too bad obviously there is full output and the fact I'm using a cassette adapter is pretty awful but nothing I can do atm

Well that's me sold. I've been mulling this over for ages, doubting whether the old head unit would cope with new speakers, and unable to find new oem replacements. If they sound as good as the (working) originals I'll be happy. I just want to turn up my tunes again without that horrible crumply bass. Was it a straight swap over?

@nuyorican yes mate straight swap with those but you need the connectors aswell obviously took me no longer than 20 minutes to do... and don't get me wrong the they still distort at certain level due to the fact it's off a stupid aux and power output isn't much however yeah I'd there at lot better than the originals and they will certainly hold better because the originals are like paper haha! I've got underseat sub to go in aswell so will see what's that's like ...
