I've recently moved from the UK to Holland and need to convert parts of my car to LHD.  By this I mean the steering is staying as is, just the lights are changing.

The focus of this topic though is the tailights.

 

I purchased some Euro spec lights that have the reverse and fog light switched so I'm off to a good start.

However, when I turn the fog light on it still appears at the right rather than the left and when I select reverse it appears in the left vs the right.

 

Is there somewhere in the wiring loom where I can switch it over?  I'd rather not bodge up some dodgy wiring as a workaround, I want it done properly.

The easy way will be to run two wires across the rear panel and swop the Black/Blue (Rev light) & the Grey/Green (Fog light) or you could cut open the loom behind the fusebox locate the same two coloured wires cut them and re-splice them

Thanks mate. You've just given me a great idea.

 

I would like to ensure I can return it to stock at any point with minimum fuss.  I'm thinking I will buy a new tailgate loom and where it connects to the main loom I will swap those two cables over.

That way my fusebox is untouched and I can simply reconnect my original wiring harness should the car ever come back to the UK.

I was kind of hoping there's a jumper setting I could adjust somewhere in the loom but based on Nige's response I guess not.

Looking at the loom in the parts listing, the tail light wiring runs down each side of the car, so a you'd need a complete interior loom. not a tailgate loom ?

Ah ok, that's a shame.

 

I assumed the tailgate loom would include all things tailgate related.

That'll be for the actual tailgate, rear wiper, HRW, (high level brake light)
