audioholic his turbo polo "fox"

Featured Replies

hi all,

just my polo here

had previously owned a polo CL coupe, and a genneis G40, but the G has rotten to heaven :(

so i had to buy another chassis, so in this case i seen this, a stock polo fox, for 150 euro's. great, some rust but it wasnt a problem, 90% less rust then the G,

just swapped all the g40 goodies in to it, and a build engine.

specs :

k03 turbo

3f inlet manifold

catcams 286 cam

thin headgasket

dewedged throttle body

supersprint exhoust (63mm)

innovate wideband lamda

running on 1.4 bar. no problems at all, custom map. street tuned

some news

old engine is out, new fresh engine in. with a ported head and a thinner head gasket, so faster turbo spool and better no boost drivability

i had some serious carter pressure problems with the old engine that was unsolvable, turbo smoking at idle ect. pulled the head ofthe engine and looked inside and came to the conclusion that the guy i got the engine from do not know how to rebuilt a engine, the cylinder walls are like it was honed with a brick, :-(

What management u running in this?

  • Author

custom mapped df1 wit a 1.5 bar map sensor

i have the abilities to write chips, and that with a lamda wideband is a perfect combo

over 2 months i own a ms2 ecu. lot more adjustments on the go, and a good boostcontroller, instead of a bleedvalve...

last weekend 2 sessions on zandvoort here in NL, first session i suck, second session going a lot better. not the best tyres and no knowledge about the track killed me.haha.

temps got quite high. water 110 celcuis. oil stays around 80 celcius.

it survived the trackday so i am not dissapointed :)

Looks awesome, curious about the MS2 setup!

yeah, me too, cannot wait to assembly the ecu and run it. have a lot of minor adjustment i wanted to make

just ordered a new clutch plate. it has slipping on full boost. 30k km's old., daily with a lot of power.. dont want to get a stronger clutch  plate because of my weak leg..

What about making the leverage to the clutch bigger? I think that wouldn't be such a big problem. You can adjust the cable to the new length.

Think that should work, better than replacing a clutch every 30K's

than is the clutch cable out of line . that can be fixxed but ill thing about that while change clutch (hoi trouwens)

some jackass has put the gardenropewather thing in my exhoust. so my wideband lamda died.. expensive joke.. and there is no name on a card with it...

What AFR was your max torque at?

  • Author

13.1 ish, just leaned it a bit out and won a lot of torque :D 14 afr while spooling

leaned it above 6300 rmp to a afr of 11,5( was afr 10.5 ish), rest afr is overall 12.

running at 1.2 bar btw..

Edited by Audioholic

Thanks I found 13:1 better on normally aspirated GK than 12.8:1 (with 99 RON fuel).

Are you using knock sensor to retard ignition to avoid detonation as you lean the top end of RPM?
