The electric window will go all the way down or however much I want it to. The problem is when I try to bring it back up all the way. It will go all the way up until there is 1-2 inches left then come back down half way. If I try to pull it up again it will go back up all the way until there is 1-2 inches left and stop again. 

 

Overall I end up fiddling around with this for 20 seconds to try and get it to close.

 

What could the issue be and how could it be fixed.

The window motor thinks there is something jamming the window ( like a kids arm/head) and it automatically lowers the window to prevent injury, so you need to strip the door card off and check the mechanism to see what it's getting jammed on near the top of it's travel, you might find it just needs the plastic runners/sliders greasing up or possibly one of them has broken
