Hi there peeps ive got to change the front strut mounts on my 2000 6n2 I haven't done struts for years but was told on the polo u can do them without taking the whole strut and springs off has anyone ever heard of this?

I don't think this is the case. I changed my suspension, and from what I remember, the only way to replace the top mounts is to remove the strut. Maybe there is a way of doing it though that I don't know about!

might be possible if you can get the spring clamps on in the space in the inner wing and lever everything down after detaching the strut from the mount but i think it would make the job much more difficult, for the sake of doing it off the car.
