Looking at changing brakes all around for own peace of mine , I can also hear squeaks whilst applying brakes and handbrake is very poor (tightened to the max).

 

I've bought some eicher premium discs for the front and some standard pads off eBay didn't think to check if they are abs though as looking on ecp mentions some are abs and some are not.

I know my car 1.9sdi 2000 is abs.

Brake drum I managed to pick up some brand-new pagid ones from a local very cheap again and about to buy some shoes but unsure about this abs marking malarky.

 

Can someone please explain as if I need it all the stuff I've bought would presumably have to go back :(

 

Also any tips at all going to try sort the brakes myself first time.

Normally pay a guy but got stands and jack so no stopping myself having a go.

 

 

The ABS system is separate to the brake pads so shouldn't make a difference. So long as they are correct for the type of caliper then you'll be fine. 

As said above, ABS makes no difference to the pads/shoes only thing with the pads could be if there are wear indication sensor in them ? but as your's is a 2000 don't think that was applicable

Some parts places do try and over complicate things too much. Like I've seen places ask for details of engine and trim level when people ask for wiper blades.....
