Mk2 bready 1.0 to 1.3GT

Featured Replies

Your linkage will fit but it will need adjusted in order to select 5th. Also I've heard mk2 Polos have a bit of plastic the needs removed to allow the gear stick to move over that far.

Butchered GT looms annoy me, for a simple plug and play conversion people love to make life hard for themselves.  The best thing to do is connect what you have then try and figure out what you ar

if you want to up the power i have a g40 inlet and injectors, add that to a 270 cam and you can get close to 100bhp   get it running nice first, if a stage 2 sub frame comes up grab it

It should still sit pretty central.

The best way I've found to adjust the linkage is stick the gearbox in first, loosen the clamp on the selector rod, move the gear stick to where first should be then tighten the clamp.

I've also been reading, and someone has said that a mk2 5 speed antiroll bar is needed?? Is this true since I'm going 4 to 5 speed?

I need a exhaust manifold anyway, the person who I bought it off cut it when removing it so it can't be used so thought why not just buy a decent one

Yes 5 speed antiroll bar or it will bash the gearbox end plate.

And with that exhaust manifold you might need some g-laderseite arb blocks to pull the front wheels forward. Definitely if lowering car. Might be okay at normal ride height. These give better handling (and clearance).
